Week Five: LaPorte Texans –vs- Galveston Hurricanes

Victory 12-0 Season Record –5 wins 0 losses

The Galveston Hurricanes blew into town last Saturday morning wanting to wreak havoc on our LaPorte Texans, but when all was said and done, they left defeated and nothing more than a Tropical Depression. Our Sophomore Texans defeated the Hurricanes 12-0.

The Defense was again stellar holding the potent Hurricane offense to zero points. There has only been one touchdown scored against the Defense all season long. Galveston wanted to continually break outside, but our corners kept funneling them back into the middle allowing the vaunted Texan defense to shut them down.

The Offense went up against one of the bigger defensives we have seen! Those were some big big boys from Galveston, but they were no match for the Texan Offense. Though the passing game was silent, the rushing attack amassed almost 170 yards smashing through and running around the Hurricane’s defense. Nathan Redd had a 35 yard touchdown run that capped a long scoring drive, while Lupe Gonzales ripped through the middle for the final touchdown of the game. It was a hard fought victory.

This week, the Texans will be traveling to play against the Pasadena Bears. They come into the game with only 1 loss on their record. It should be a good game.
