LaPorte Texans -vs- LaMarque Tigers

Texans 18 - Tigers 6

Week Four: LaPorte Texans –vs- LaMarque Cougars

Victory 18 – 6 Season Record –4 wins 0 losses

Part of becoming a Championship Team is going onto an opponent’s home field, keeping your composure, playing your game and winning with dignity and class. That is what our boys did this last week in LaMarque when they beat the Tigers 18-6 in a hard fought game. We are proud of them!

The defense again was outstanding. If not for one broken-play scramble by the Tiger’s Quarterback, the Texan’s defense would still have their scoreless streak alive. But give credit to their quarterback, it was a good run. Other than that, the defense stifled a quick and aggressive Tiger offense holding them to one touchdown. Justin Flores had an outstanding game with several solo tackles and an interception. Sacks, fumble recoveries and an interception were all on display by a swarming, relentless Texan Defense. Keep up the good work, boys!

How ‘bout them HAWGS!!! Man, did they open some holes for our running backs to blow through. There were times that Lupe Gonzales looked plum lonely going through the holes! Coach Rae is getting those HAWGS to root out defensive linemen left and right! Great Job Boys! The Offense piled up almost 200 yards of total offense on their way to scoring 3 touchdowns. On the last touchdown, David Terrabone looked like a pro-quarterback avoiding a sack and tossing an 8 yard touchdown pass to Caleb Longoria! What a play! What a great way to cap off an … uh … well … let us say … unusual drive. (grin)

We need to acknowledge our Team Moms! They are doing to great job! All of them are doing an exceptional job taking care of our boys this year! Thanks Ladies!

This week the Galveston Hurricanes are coming to town sporting a 3 win and 1 loss season. Let’s welcome them, treat them well and send them home with a loss this week! It will be good to be home where all first downs are 10 yards and both teams have 4 plays to get them!

Here is a video of the game.
