LaPorte Texans -vs- League City Cougars

Texans 27 - Cougars 0

Week Three: League City Cougars –vs- LaPorte Texans

Victory 27 – 0 Season Record –3 wins 0 losses

Our Sophomore LaPorte Texans continued to roll as they tamed the League City Cougars this past Saturday Morning. The defense again was stellar holding the Cougars to 1 first down and a total of 7 yards. How did they get 1 first down on 7 yards? Out of 21 offensive plays, League City gained 37 total yards, but lost 30 yards on great defensive plays by the Texans! For the season, the Texan’s Defense hasn’t given up any points – 3 Shut Outs – and have only given up 2 first downs! Great work boys! Keep that Shut Out going boys!

Not to be overshadowed, the Texan’s offense kept rolling right along. If it wasn’t one of the running backs with a bruising run up the middle, it was one of the other backs sweeping around the side. And if that wasn’t enough, they put the ball in the air. In the words heard so often, “You can’t stop ‘em, you can only hope to contain ‘em!”

One great highlight of the game was Austin Forkin’s 75 yard reception for a touchdown! It was a sight to behold! Great Job, Austin!

This week the Texans roll into LaMarque to face the Tigers. This will be a rematch from a Playoff game from last year. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. They have victories over the Beaumont Bulls and League City Cougars and a 1 point opening day loss to the tough Hitchcock Red Raiders. The Texans will be in hostile territory on the Tiger’s home field, but will undoubtedly play with great intensity and focus.

On another note, didn’t the LaPorte Darlings do a fantastic job this last week? They looked better prepared than some of the High School Drill Teams the Bulldogs have played recently! Great Job Girls! You have a part in each Texan’s Victory!
