Week Six: LaPorte Texans –vs- Pasadena Bears

Victory 25-0 Season Record – 6 wins 0 losses

If nothing else this year, the Texans are learning how to play on wet, muddy fields! The Texans ventured over to the Bears House this last Saturday and soundly defeated the Bears by the score of 25 – 0. The Texans Offense methodically drove the ball right at the Bears while the Defense all but totally shut the Bears down holding them to 2 first downs all game long. In six games the Texans Defense has only been scored on 1 time while the Offense of the Texans has rolled up 138 points! Can you say, ”TOTAL DOMINATION?????”

The swarming Texan Defense led by Lupe Gonazale’s 6 tackles, Eric Kendzior’s 4 tackles and Caleb Longoria’s 4 tackles rendered the Bears Offense ineffective. The whole defensive line funneled the ball carriers to these STUDS while Mason Lee and Ty Chambers swatted down anything that slipped outside. Coach Steve has honed these boys into a hard hitting defensive machine! Keep it up boys!

David Terrabone led the Texans Offense to over 300 yards in total offense. Coach Rae’s HAWGS (Offensive Line) led by Eric Kenzior, Ryder Rae, Zach Morales, Trevor Pugh, Paul Bob, Big John Navarro paved the way for 275 yards on the ground while passes from David Terrabone and Nathan Redd caught by Caleb Longoria and Austin Forkin provided 48 more yards of offense. The Offensive Unit posted 25 points on a tough Bears Defense. Coach Ron had his foot on the gas with this high octane offense and it is doubtful he will let up anytime soon!

On a personal note, after away games this year, have you ever wondered how visiting teams view our Texan Family when they leave our field? Let’s make sure that our Texan Family treats visiting teams and families with class, dignity and respect when they come to Texan Field. Greet our guests warmly, answer any questions they may have, encourage their boys to play well, never say disparaging words about a player or a team, and wish them a safe trip home. That’s not just good sportsmanship, that’s just good manners, and that is the Texan’s Way!
