Week Eight: LaPorte Texans –vs- Clear Lake Falcons
Victory 27-0 Season Record – 8 wins 0 losses
All one can say is WOW! What an incredible performance by the UNDEFEATED SOPHOMORE LAPORTE TEXANS! This truly was a statement game – and the boys made a statement that we heard around the league. One can only imagine what other teams (Space Raiders) thought when they saw a 27-0 plucking of the Clear
The pace of the game was settled when the Falcons were down 14-0 and had only run 2 offensive plays with the Texans taking the ball away from them on both plays! The Texans Defense was relentless. Mason Lee had the game of his life with 6 tackles (and a nice tackle celebration dance) with Lupe Gonzales making 7 additional tackles. Ty Chambers and Eric Kendzior were trying their best to knock guys out of their cleats with bone jarring hits!
The Texan Offense again amassed over 250 yards with the Defense holding a previous potent Falcon Offense to just 2 First Downs. Nathan Redd led the way on the ground with over 120 yards rushing with David Terrebonne sweeping around the end for 62 yards and Lupe Gonzales punishing the middle for 37 yards. Caleb Longoria snagged 3 of Terrebonne’s passes for 25 yards to complete an impressive offensive performance. None of this would have been possible without Coach Rae’s HAWGS!!!!

We really have a great team. Not just the boys, but the Coaches, Team Moms, Support Staff and Parents. All together, pulling in the same direction, following the same Leadership, we can accomplish great things! One of the things that we should be the most proud of is that our boys are growing up to be great young men. They are surrounded by both Coaches and Daddies that encourage them to lay it all out on the field as well as excel in life. The case could be made that we would be failures as a Texan Organization if we won the Super Bowl, but allowed the boys to be disrespectful failures in School and in life. As one parent, I am glad my family is part of an organization that cares as much for the boys off the field as the do on the field. Let’s keep up the good work! That is what the Texan Family is all about!
This week we have the Alvin Yellowjackets swarming on our field. Let’s treat them well while they are here and send them home knowing what the Texan Family and Football Team is all about!
